At some point AR owners find out that having multiple calibers on hand is very affordable and nearly instant to swap. Collect a series of Apache assembled uppers and to swap onto your lower to have many, MANY calibers and uses. AR15 swaps out in seconds to .330 blackout for hunting or quieter range shooting, and also to AK style 7.62 rounds for hunting and easy-to-find ammo. You even get to use the same bolt carrier group and charging handle that you already have (except when you switch to AK 7.62, we send you a special Bolt Carrier Group included.) AR10 swaps from the cheaper 308 to the insanely long rage shooting accuracy of 6.5 Creedmore. There are many more calibers to switch too, these mentioned uppers are just the most common and ready to ship out the door immediately. Check your local regulations and constantly changing Fed laws when shortening lengths to under 16″ barrels; your laws may be non-intuitive and waffling.

When you already own your lower receiver or an AR, swapping calibers and barrel lengths takes about 8 seconds. That means your AR15 can go from your plain ol’ 5.56 defense loads to a new .300 blackout for hunting, or even 7.62 AK rounds quicker than you can find your range bag. Or swap to “.223 Wylde” (.223/5.56) for higher target accuracy. And when you already have an AR10 or lower receiver in hand, you can swap from the standard 308 to an upgraded 6.5 Creedmoor for super-long-range accuracy. And just go ahead and splurge a bit more for the match grade versions in 18, 20, 22 and 24 inch barrels because you know you are going to love them. (Just do it man, I’m just the independent web guy and the owner is going to fire me for writing whatever the heck I want…but OMG everything Apache Armaments that’s 18″ and over is insanely accurate!!!!!!! In AR15 get the .223 Wylde version in long barrel, and anything AR10 20″ and over. The owner is probably going to call me about 11:30pm and tell me to delete this, so I’m taking a risk – just buy an assembled Apache longer barrel upper, especially in the stainless.)
Swap from home defense length to long range accuracy in seconds.
Your lower rifle receiver with a butt stock will swap out for many lengths 16″ and longer. That means extra accuracy down range. Your non-buttstock, non-adjustable buffer tube style pistol length or registered SBR receiver will swap out to just about any length upper (check your ever changing fed laws, double check local laws for personal compliance). If you are like many, you’ll want a dedicated rifle lower plus a different non-buttstock non-adjustable buffer tube dedicated pistol or SBR lower to help cover all the length possibilities (your personal laws may vary). A great source of regulation updates in addition to atty is to check with your local shooting organizations.
